Shadsworth Community Hub and the WISH Centre have been offering a warm and supportive space for local women to come together, build confidence and look after their physical and mental wellbeing.
Over the past three weeks BwD Adult Learning has delivered a festive craft course designed to encourage creativity, relaxation and skill development. Learners created their own handmade decorations and gifts, enjoyed time to unwind and experienced the benefits of focusing outward rather than inward, a key message from the WISH team.
Learners shared how much the sessions have meant to them.
“It has encouraged me to get out of the house and do something purposeful whilst feeling safe and secure.”
“I have got PTSD, borderline personality disorder, anxiety and panic disorder. Doing this course has helped me focus and relaxed my mind. I have ordered some resources and will be making these projects for gifts for people at Christmas.”
One learner has grown so much in confidence that she will be delivering the final festive session for the group next week.
We are incredibly proud of what the group has achieved and look forward to bringing more creative wellbeing sessions to the community in the new year.
