Vacancy: Adult Learning Tutor – English (Part-Time)

Are you an enthusiastic English tutor with a passion for supporting adult learners? Blackburn with Darwen Adult Learning Service is looking for a part-time English Specialist Tutor to join our team. This permanent role is ideal for a dynamic tutor with experience in designing and delivering short or introductory English courses to adults who may be returning to education or learning English as a second language.

Key Details:

  • Salary: Grade F, SCP 17-23, £28,770 – £32,076 per annum, pro rata
  • Location: Blackburn with Darwen
  • Contract: Part-time, 18.5 hours per week
  • Closing Date: 18 November 2024
  • Interview Date: 26 November 2024

Requirements: The successful candidate will need:

  • A minimum level 4 teaching qualification.
  • English qualification at level 3 and maths qualification at functional skills level 2.
  • Proven experience in teaching English, particularly to adults aged 19+.
  • Knowledge of functional skills, Ofsted standards, SAR, moderation, and RARPA would be advantageous.

Our teaching provision spans Blackburn with Darwen, with some evening and weekend hours. You’ll be required to travel between our two main centres and other community venues, with travel expenses claimable in line with our policy.
